CMC Biologics

Location: Bothell, WA

Date: June 2014

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

  • WebCTRL is undergoing FDA CFR21 part 11 certification (FDA validated site)
  • WebCTRL provides single interface for new equipment with ALC controls and also approx. 450 points on existing equipment still controlled by JCI
  • Approx. 10 existing AHU’s, 3 new AHU’s w/ associated reheat coils, 42 room differential pressure monitors, chiller plant, steam boiler plant, extensive alarming and trending requirements

WHAT SUNBELT CONTROLS DELIVERED

CMC needed all work performed within a very tight 6-week shutdown period. Numerous value engineering design challenges were presented to Sunbelt Controls in the weeks prior to construction. Sunbelt Controls was able to deliver a cost-effective controls system by integrating with existing Johnson Controls on all existing equipment, and also by designing a unique room pressure monitoring system that served CMC’s specific needs.

Although CFR21 part 11 certification was not a specified requirement, Sunbelt Controls’ own commissioning documentation standards, along with WebCTRL’s inherent features, allowed for certification by the owner.
